As you probably already know, our family loves charming Florida beach towns. Their history, relax and casual atmosphere, their beautiful colors, architectural character, and authenticity of people feel like the real Florida to me. Last year we went to Indian Rocks Beach (click here for post) and we’ve been to Redington/Madeira Beach area few times. The beach is much more beautiful here. In fact, it’s very similar to the Clearwater Beach, serene and turquoise blue. Instead of going to the same overcrowded Clearwater spots, which don’t get me wrong, are great! You will love spending a relax day at Redington or Madeira Beach. I hope you find this Family Guide to Redington or Madeira Beach helpful this summer.

What to do:
Beach – Do you need to do anything else? I love this beach because it’s not as crowded as Clearwater, it’s just as gorgeous and parking it’s much easier to find.
Shopping – John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk has all the entertainment you need for one afternoon. There is plenty of shopping and water fun, such as parasailing & jetskiing. Interesting fact: It used to be an actual fishing village since 1848. I love all interesting shops with unique buys. We of course couldn’t miss our pictures in front of the colorful walls.
Where to eat:
The Bamboo Beach Bar – It’s not waterfront, but the live entertainment, the pina coladas and the coconut shrimp made it just as fun. It’s family friendly at least during daytime.
The Sand Bar – after your ice cream, walk to the mural behind it for a picture.
The Frozen Custard – you can’t miss your 2 scoops with sprinkles on top and picture on the cow if you’d like.
Where to stay:
We haven’t actually stayed in this area yet. We’ve driven to here when we stayed at Indian Rocks Beach and on a 2nd occasion from St Pete. But there are plenty of affordable hotels with good reviews as well as AirBnb’s.
I hope my Redington Madeira Beach guide gives you a few good ideas of fun things to do in this area. I’m sure your whole family will enjoy it. We will probably keep coming back to this beach just because it’s so gorgeous and it has better amenities. What are some of the places you like to enjoy as a family? Let me know, and don’t forget to live the cake life!
