The Museum of Ice Cream has taken Instagram by storm. According to the Art News site: art.net, it is last year’s 10th-most Instagrammed museum in the entire world! (https://news.artnet.com/art-world/awol-erizkus-beyonce-pregnancy-photo-instagram-1162772).
If you want to know what living inside a child’s dream is, head to Miami Beach Faena Art District for the super trendy MOIC. It opened in December 2017, during Art Basel, which is an international art fair with three annual shows in Basel, Switzerland; Miami Beach and Hong Kong. And you better hurry because they are closing very soon! If you google the MOIC founders you will see they have been interviewed on many national publications, as well as a few international ones. They are also on AdAge’s 2017 Creativity50 most influential creative figures. And well deserved, they have created the most amazing experiential installations for us to enjoy and share on social media. Other than the Sprinkle pool, I think this popsicle curtain has been so popular, and it’s because they look so real. You just want to open your mouth and eat them.
When I heard they were coming to Miami, I was ecstatic to bring them my cake inspired by the Sprinkle Pool. Delivering a cake from Orlando to Miami halfway decorated was no easy task. That was one of the reasons I decided to leave my kids in Orlando. I wanted to focus solely on this. Thank God, everything was successful. Even the weather was in my favor, because in August FL summer, the 100 degree weather would have turned my buttercream into a liquid mess. I still blasted the car air conditioning so high that my poor husband kept complaining the whole drive that I was trying to make him sick. By the way, he is such a good sport. Hurray! for supportive husbands. Yeah, we were freezing, but the cake was perfect. We drove the night before and rented a suite with an actual size fridge so I could fit the humongous cake box in. The next day, we delivered it under pouring rain (that’s FL for you!) so if you notice my super curly hair, that’s the reason why.
They just announced they will open more locations internationally! I hope they come back every year, because I still have to take my kids and myself again of course. Can’t get enough of that Sprinkle Pool! Are you planning to go? Let me know in the comments.
